Dr. Naoya Kato and Dr. Muneo Yoshikawa held a joint public lecture on current studies in the field of Death and Dying. Dr. Kato, being a medical doctor, shared his research and findings that might help patients better cope with life threatening illness. Dr. Yoshikawa shared his own research on thanatology.

The joint lecture was well received by the medical community and included cancer patients and physicians. After the lecture, Dr. Kato was awarded his Dual Doctorate Degree from the consortium of Intercultural Open University Foundation (IOUF), Universidad Azteca, and Central University de Nicaragua from Dr. Muneo Yoshikawa, Professor and member of the Board of Governors for IOU Foundation.
