Tuition and fees
Intercultural Open University Foundation attempts to assist learners as much as possible to meet the Foundations modest tuition fees by adapting the fees to the individual needs of the learners. Tuition fee payments can be made in three installments. The Board of Governors, President, and staff are all dedicated to making affordable education possible for learners regardless of their financial situation. Our scholarship programs are centered around and directed toward learners that are active and involved in social change programs.
Tuition fees are Euro 5,500 for the partnership (Universidad Azteca and Universidad Central de Nicaragua) PhD Programs, exclusive handbooks, readers and literature, but inclusive study guidance, examinations and residential courses. (Payment of the full amount at the start of the study allows the student a discount of Euro 500 because of less administration costs.)
Tuitions and fees for the inter university dual degree partnership online programmes provided in English are invoiced in EURO and are for complete academic study year:

|Dissertation/Thesis printing and binding fee (2 hardcopies) for UCN and University Azteca library
Tuition for Distance Educational Programmes for Instruction Not in Real Time.
“Distance education” means transmission of instruction to students at a location separate from the institution.
“Tuition of distance education programme” means the cost for instruction and examination charged per full degree programme.
The tuition payment and refund policy applies to students directly enrolled in a inter university dual degree partnership distance education programme for instruction not in real time. Tuition and refund policies of partner universities, enrolling students in inter-university or exchange programmes may vary.
Fees and tuitions for inter university dual degree partnership programmes vary depending on the programme and the respective mode of delivery. We inform about current tuitions and fees on request – use our contact form for enquiries.
Tuitions include the complete programme cost and the award of the following documents at the end of the programme:
Degree award in Spanish language with Apostille of the Foreign Ministry of Nicaragua
Degree award in English not apostilled.
Diploma Supplement (transcript) in Spanish and English – not apostilled (if a graduate requires an apostille, a fee is charged).
Registered shipment to the student.
Extra charges apply to additional services like:
- Express shipment by courier service
- Additional replacement of credentials and transcripts
- Additional certification, apostille or legalisation services
- Credential evaluation service (NACES) to be arranged by UCN
- Official transcript services.
