European Foundation for Quality in E learning.

The President of Intercultural Open University Foundation, Dr. Sandra Hurlong and the Board of Governors are pleased and honored to announce that IOU Foundation has been accepted for full membership in the European Foundation for Quality in eLearning (EFQUEL), http://www.qualityfoundation.org. EFQUEL is a membership Foundation based in Brussels, Belgium and supports a membership of over eighty members.

The purpose of the Foundation is to enhance the quality of e-learning in Europe by providing service and support for its members. The Foundation initiators are European Schoolnet, FIM Newlearning, MENON Network, University of Duisburg-Essen-Germany, and the University of Reading.

Intercultural Open University Foundation plans to be involved in the HEXTLEARN and the UNIQUE project, a program that aims at enhancing the reform process of European higher education institutions by creating, testing, and launching an e-learning quality label. The results of this project would be accreditation and quality improvement for European higher education institutions involved in technology enhanced learning (http://unique.europace.org).
