Sandra Hurlong, PhD, President of IOUF Appointed to Global Advisory Board of the Human Dignity and Humiliation Studies Group (USA)

Dr. Hurlong has been invited to serve on a very distinguished advisory board for the Human Dignity and Humiliation Studies Group. This social change group generates interdisciplinary research and disseminates information aimed at enhancing awareness of human dignity. The studies group applies creative educational methods and strategies, devises pilot projects, and advises on public planning policy. Dr. Hurlong will be attending the conference at Columbia University in December, 2011.


IOUF Opens New Office in Granada, Spain


The President and Board of Governors with mixed emotions have said goodbye to Bosk House in Opiende, NL as it was recently sold. It had accommodated many conferences,  held meetings of some of the major leaders in social change, and was home base for many learners.  It was not only the birthplace of this Foundation but also its "think tank" and the entire IOUF family came to love the beauty and grace of this tranquil headquarters in the Dutch countryside.
IOU Foundation Membership in the USDLA

The President and the Board of Governors are pleased to announce that the IOU Foundation has joined the United States Distance Learning Association. As one of the premier distance learning associations in the United States the USDLA mission is in keeping with the IOUF mission to support the development and application of distributed learning, mentoring, training, and uniting learners from around the world.

IOU Foundation Contributes to Reforestation in S.Pablo Etla Oaxaca

President Sandra Hurlong represented IOU Foundation on July 17, 2011 in a major reforestation project undertaken by the residents of San Pablo Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico. With the assistance of experts in Mexico, the local community, and volunteers from abroad, a program of careful multispecies tree planting has begun. This is being done in such a way as to extend and preserve the diversity of the surrounding mountain forests.

Innovative Approaches for the Intercultural Open University Foundation

On April 19, 2011, Intercultural Open University Foundation held a symposium at the Arden, Delaware (USA) location to honor two distinguished graduates and to examine the future of educating change agents.  The round table symposium acknowledged that future change agents would have to study and acquire self-discovery, mastery of ICT skills, and the creation of a new vision for humanity.
