Dr. Muneo Yoshikawa Appointed President of IMGS
yoshikawaphotoThe President, Board of Governors, and Faculty/Staff of Intercultural Open University Foundation (IOUF) along with our consortium partners Universidad Azteca and Universidad Central de Nicaragua would like to congratulate Dr. Yoshikawa for his appointment as President of the International Mentorship Graduate School (IMGS) in Osaka, Japan.
Dr. Yoshikawa is Professor Emeritus of the University of Hawaii.  He serves on the Board of Governors and is the Distinguished Professor of Intercultural Communications at IOUF.  He will coordinate the academic programs between IOUF and IMGS.

President Sandra Hurlong meets with local Artisans in Granada to Explore Education Funding for Artisans

In support of Intercultural Open University Foundation’s mission for social responsibility and the European celebration of the Days of the Artisan, President Hurlong met recently with artisans in the Barrio Realejo of Granada. IOUF’s European headquarters is located in the midst of various workshops where master craftsmen work. Europe’s economic crisis has affected sales of many goods produced by artisans in Spain. Classical guitar makers have begun to explore the market in China for their guitars. IOUF is exploring the funding of cultural exchanges to promote Spanish handicrafts in China.

Dr. Sohan L. Gandhi Awarded PhD Degree from Universidad Azteca and Universidad Central de Nicaragua
01On December 28, 2012, Sohan L. Gandhi, PhD was formally awarded his Dual PhD Degree in Social Science from the Universidad Azteca and Universidad Central de Nicaragua by Dr. Gulab Kothari, International Advisor for Intercultural Open University Foundation (IOUF). Dr. Gandhi serves on the Board of Governors for IOUF and is a core faculty member.  He is currently the Honorary President of the ANNUVRAT Global Organization, the Transnational Center for Peace and Non-violent Action.

Dr. Gandhi recently completed an Asian university lecture tour on peace and non-violence.  The President, Board of Governors, staff and faculty of IOUF are very proud and honored for Dr. Gandhi’s academic achievements and his dedication to world peace.

London, February 2013, Dr. Gulab Kothari, CEO of Patrika Group and International Advisor to Intercultural Open University Foundation gave the keynote address to the London School of Economics (LSE) India Week Power of Ideas Session.  This trade seminar was organized to discuss the strengthening ties between Europe and India and the future of trade links between these two regions.  This is one of the most prestigious public event programs in the world.  Distinguished speakers in the past have included Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton, John F. Kennedy, Dalai Lama, Kofi Anan, and Dmitry Medvedev.
Dr. Gulab Kothari Receives the Moorthidevi Award
Moortidevi Award Function Photo-Award MomentoDr. Gulab Kothari, Intercultural Open University Foundation Scholar and International Advisor, was conferred the 24th Moorthidevi Award on December 24, 2012.  The Award is an annual literary award in India presented by the Bharatiya Jnanpith Organization for a work which emphasizes Indian philosophy and culture.  Dr. Kothari was given the Award for his book, Main hi Radha, Main hi Krishna.
